VIOLENT AND UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR

The NHS operates a zero tolerance policy with regard to violence and abuse and the practice has the right to remove violent patients from the list with immediate effect in order to safeguard practice staff, patients and other people.

Violence in this context includes actual or threatened physical violence or verbal abuse which leads to fear for a person’s safety.

Abusive or threatening behaviour or language will not be tolerated by our surgeries. Our staff work hard to assist our patients and we expect that they are treated with respect. Please help us to help you. Our staf operate under instruction from managers & partners at the Practice. They are required to comply with these instructions and the law. Abuse on the telephones is not acceptable and your call may be terminated if this occurs. Please be aware that all of ou rincoming calls are recorded.

In this situation we will notify the patient in writing of their removal from the list and will record in the patient’s medical records the fact of the removal and the circumstances leading to it.
